"The Black Hair Care Revolution" is like no other hair-care book on the market today. Ms. Yetunde Jude has captured the essentials for growing and maintaining healthy hair and outlined them in this handy little pocket-guide that is huge on information. Everything you need to know about having healthy, shiny hair is available in Ms. Jude's book: from the basic science of hair, to shampooing and conditioning. You will also learn valuable hair care tips with her recipes for nourishing your hair and scalp. I can attest that my hair has never looked better since I have read and put to use the knowledge Yetunde Jude teaches in this take everywhere hair care book.

Love the Hair Journal and Natural Recipes5
This book is great. It is easy to read and covers topics from how to condition your hair to how to make conditioning shampoo. Before reading this book, I did not know that I could take hair care products back to the store if they did not do what they said the would.

The need to moisturize

Because textured hair needs moisture it is very important to moisturize with a waterbased moisturizer on a daily basis.
Even though dry textured hair has some moisture in it, it is very little because of the coily texture, the sebum in our scalps that is suppose to travel down the hair shaft and lubricate our hair to trap the moisture in does not make it all the way down the hairshaft because of the tight coils in textured hair, this is why textured hair breaks very easily, after shampooing with… Continue

Does your hair fall just like the season?

Either my hair has reached it's terminal length, I'm combing too fast, or my hair swears its a leaf. Terminal length...hmm...maybe. Sometimes I try not to comb my hair to make sure that I do not comb it fast. Sometimes I have to question in fact my hair is influenced by the season. This is something very questionable. Maybe I'm wrong.

Ultra Black Hair Growth II by Cathy Howse

I do not normally write book reviews, but this book is a must read. I borrowed this book from the library because it kept my attention from the begining. It is an easy read. She says it can be read in a couple of hours and she was right. She discusses a system that she developed for growing and keeping hair on your head in a year. Many things that she mentions are common sense such as not brushing your hair, applying a deep conditioner with protein, lubrication and stimulation, keeping the hair… Continue

Blow Drying on Low Heat then Banding

I tried this after watching a few videos on the subject over the past few months, the blow drying that is. It turned out really well and what I noticed with this blow drying session, compared to my last in Dec. 08, my hair wasn't slippery with oil and it didn't have a look of fried-ness. It wasn't fried but it just looked it. My hair turned out really soft this time and very fluffy.

Since I have arthritis I alternated between holding the hair taut with my KakaKiki brush and just holding it with… Continue

I love henna

Today i did a henna gloss. It was the best henna gloss i ever did. My hair doubled in thickness and felt so strong. I had just taken out a weave i had in for 2 1/2 weeks. I don't know why but when i took out the weave my hair was so dry and brittle, so i co-wash 3 times and it was a tangled mess, i was on my hair from 8:00 in the morning until 10:00 that night, it seemed like my hair was one big dred loc, so i carefully pulled apart each tangle, then co-washed again, but my hair still felt dry a… Continue

Interesting Hair Myths vs Facts...

Myth: washing your hair every day strips out the nutrients.

Fact: washing your hair every day with a quality shampoo invigorates the scalp and leaves the hair healthy and shiny.

Myth: your hair gets used to one shampoo so you should change it regularly.

Fact: as long as it's a good shampoo suited to your scalp and hair type, you should get fine results every time.

Myth: if you never wash your hair, it will clean itself.

Fact: it will just get dirtier and could result in an irritated, itchy… Continue

My Hair Sistas

I feel such a bond with so many sistas on this site. When I have difficulty checking in because of technical difficulties I feel like I don't have contact with my family online. Does anyone else feel like this? There are too many people to name that I do not want to leave anyone out, but thank you for being my hair sista. I know that Kelly posted a blog like this before, but I truly understand what she means.
